PlantComMistra is a Mistra-financed research program that will develop new, more sustainable solutions to aphid control in cereals, primarily barley. The program consists of three subprograms:
1. New cropping strategies
2. New genotypes
3. Enhanced effectiveness of aphid natural enemies
The cross-disciplinary approach combining insect ecology and plant physiology, and spanning both basic and applied research, is unique in both a national and an international context.
Who are we?
The research program is a collaboration between four institutions: SLU Alnarp, SLU Umeå, SLU Uppsala, and Södertörn University. The program board has responsibility for overseeing the program, and consists of representatives from the private, public and academic sectors.
